Hi I bought a car on Thursday and picked it up on Saturday, so far there have been a few issues. Please no lectures of 'told you so' can I please have advice on where I stand getting my original car back.
Firstly it developed a hell of a squeak in the front wheels, on getting my own garage to check it - I was advised that I needed a suspension coil (or something) part is £130 plus labour, then this evening the passenger window has dropped and not come back up and then on the way back from the dog park, the engine light came on and the car lost all power - I have managed to limp home because the RAC kept me on hold for 15 mins.
Where do I stand legally I need to go back to the trader tomorrow with cold hard facts!

Speeding like a girl racer on the high roads and low roads of the Western Highlands - surely that's not possible?

Glad that you have resolution......

I didn't say it was in the highands DTC did I!!
I'm pleased that the problems have been resolved...reading your posts yesterday, I was getting that sinking feeling on your behalf!
It's your name, Islay....shades of Talisker to it....at least it isn't Barra. Do they even have a road over there?
Question Author
Lol there is not much speeding done on the roads of islay or Skye but the road up to Thurso has taken a battering or too!!
There used to be a road in Norfolk called the mad mile - it was longer than a mile and dead straight - we all raced down that roads as soon as we passed out tests lol
Acle Strait ?
Question Author
No Murray near Tunstead outside of Coltishall
near the RAF base ? pleased you got the car business sorted...
Acle strait was a nightmare with boy racers..accidents all the time, some cars trapped in side ditches and occupants drowned as the doors wouldn't open..lots of bikers met their maker there too....
Question Author
Yup turn left just after the 3 horseshoes at Tunstead and it goes down the back of the base.
remember some lads on the base were organising races and got in deep doodah !!
Question Author
lol they always did, I remember when they put the female medical officer's official mini in the swimming pool!!
I had a mate who blew his crap Lotus Elan up in front of the main gates of the factory, (yes, some down-well explosives used), the press looking on - he couldn't even get a decent acceleration up those broad straights that you are referring too! 1974 was the year.
Question Author
74 I was but a nipper!!
It was 74 that this mate, working for Expro in Yarmouth, pulled this stunt......he was a devoted (Norwich) City fan too....
Lotus test site was in Hethersett a wee suburb of Norwich..I knew one of their (very highly paid) test drivers...
