My sons in breach of a conditional discharge for been drunk and disorderly. Got arrested last night for the same. In court 4th july. Whats the likely outcome?
I paid off his last lot of court costs etc, cant do it again. Bit worried about bailiffs etc as he will not take any responsibility for his finances.
He will just disregard any court judgment but it will leave me with the mess to clean up.
How on earth can I deal with bailiffs collecting his mess?

I would imagine a fine, can't say how much. Far too early to be worrying about bailiffs at this stage. If he doesn't pay the fine he goes to chokey.

I'd say a fine or community service this time.
Community service would be better , he can't get you to do it for him!

Hi address is yours so when he defaults they are allowed to come around to yours - and you have to show everything is not his - but yours. You do this by receipts

Not sure if you can contact the court and tell them that a fine is useless as he just gets you to pay it to keep him out of trouble.
If he has a solicitor ask them for advice and explain the situation.
Phoning the court and talking to the 'clerk to the court' may be helpful as well.

Think that's got to be the first time that ive agreed with you PP and also the fact that I have to prove to the bailiffs...if it comes to it...that my possessions are in fact mine and not my sons. (most of my possessions are second hand and impossible to show that they are mine)

EDDIE he may well get community service but there will still be prosecution costs. Hes lost his job and has no income (and he wont sign on as previously he was constantly getting sanctioned and just gave up trying)

BTW hes not entitled to a solicitor on legal aid now because its not an imprisonable offence.

A very difficult situation nalit I really don't have any suggestions.
It's not fair on you but I don't see what you could do short of throwing him out of the house and I know you'll never do that.
I don't expect he will bother to turn up for the community service if he does get it. Will he even go to court, or will it be a warrant ?

Nalit, you may not like my answer but here goes, if he's old enough to drink, he's old enough to stand his responsibilities, you bailed him out once! why? the trouble with a lot of the youngsters of today "Mum / Dad are there to cough up the bills, if that was my son, he would pay the price for his actions and go for a week on Porridge, I'm sorry for being so blunt but a lot of these lads take the IZZZZ out of their parents, good Luck on this one.
