A Duty Of Care

the older alba (25) came home at 3.30pm in a panic as his brother (23) had been injured at work.
They both work in the same abattoir, anyway, that's not the point, if the older alba hadn't been there and broken the news, Mr A and I were wondering if we would ever have found out/
The Company does have our contact details for next of kin, but no-one notified us.
On the plus side, the younger alba is now is a hospital which specialises in nerve damage and they think he'll be off work, which will include physio after mice-surgery, for at least 2 months.
Still think the Work should have notified a next of kin or am I wrong?
Thanks

And maybe the company knew of this request - or there may well have been assumptions made (wrongfully so, perhaps?)
In hoping the wee Albs is through the worse, even if the recovery road is indeed a slow one - must have been a hell of a day for you though - in my thoughts!! (dtc xx).

filleting steak, very sharp knife, into bicep.
(loads of blood apparently)
Anyway, 'they' knew his brother was around and called for him to come to first aid room.
Tourniquet etc.
Am just a tad miffed that no-one from Work phoned, younger alba admitted to local hospital and then transferred to another.
At least he's fine, for which I am most grateful.

DT, they could well have done so, poor lad came home in a panic about his brother (well, you do, don't you?)
Many thanks for all good wishes, younger alba did say 'hey, happy birthday dad' !!
Mazie, I can't offer him to come up and dig your allotment thingy - the things they do to get out of doing stuff :-)
(am less stressed now than I was a few hours ago)
