my daughter and her husband split up four years ago . his 16 year addiction for gambling and drinking was just too much for my daughter to put up with any more . Then he was arrested 3 times for burglary..over the last four years. My daughter has moved..(housing association tenant ) with the three children to another house. in her name only and every thing in the house she has paid for herself. So her husband doesn't own anything. She wants a divorce now but is worried if he could claim any money or items in it.What would get situation be.?

Can't see a court awarding him any goods that she can prove she purchased herself after the separation. I'd advise that if she hasn't kept bank or credit card statements showing these purchase transactions that she obtains copies now ahead of any hearing.

From memory I believe that any household goods that need to be adjudicated would be listed in the divorce petition, but in practice most people would have already sorted this out between them, particularly as it has been several years since the split.
