I Feel I Am Not Being Properly Treated By A Hospital...i Need To Talk To Someone But Who Do I Go To?

what do i do...where do i go if i feel i am not being properly treated at a hospital please? This is ongoing over last four years....Do i write to the boss of the hospital?

Before you do that, try to find out the official guideline for the treatment you should be having, the Nice website is a start as it may be your perception of your treatment and what is going on is correct

there is a space for patients to complain when they are being kicked around even tho they are on the right treatment

my initial treatment was pretty terrible but then got better - surg reg failed to spot large abdo tumour and 10 l ascites. They fired him

Before you do write to anyone can I suggest you try to get a copy of your medical notes. This will give you a clear idea of what treatment you are receiving and to check everything in them is correct. Often when you complain they will quote things back at you and it helps to be prepared. Have a clear idea of what you expect from this complaint. PALS are great in some hospitals not so great in others. If you have a condition that has a charity or support group ask members what support they have received in hospital. And if they can recommend a certain dr or a hospital that has a good reputation. Get everything you talk to the hospital about in writing. Good luck!
