Cleaner Found With Cocaine. What To Do?

Friends found their cleaner had cocaine in her hold-all, (they opened it thinking it belonged to one of their children’s friends). They have fired her, but know that she works for other families with children. Should they inform them of the situation??

I would have thought "meh" at least the works getting done faster. Yes, they should inform the other families of the situation, and if they're really hurt or mortified about it, maybe they should ring the police?

How do they know that it is actually cocaine?

They should not have been in her "hold-all" even if they did think it was a childrens friends hold all. How deep do you need to get to find a baggie ( i assume) of cocaine before you realise it's not a childs bag?

that's a good point sanmac.. As a cleaner it could have been a number of different powders or cleaning products.

I thought grasses where you reside got knee capped JennyKenny. Perhaps the cleaner would of been better advised to lock her "private" property so no snoops can access it and leave it at that unless she was a useless char

Sorry, the answer to the question is no because unless they tried the powder (inadvisable) it could have been anything.

I was also going to ask how they knew it was cocaine and not maybe Andrews Liver Salts, or maybe glucose powder like I sometimes carry, because no-one is going to taste an unknown powder are they?
Cheeky ***, tell them they've fired her so that's the end of their association, or are they trying to destroy the person?

The fact that they have fired her on pretty flimsy evidence should be sufficient. They really shouldn't compound that by spreading unfounded rumours about her alleged *drugs habit*.

Okay, taking your answers point by point.
The bag was a small plastic bag on the top of the contents with white powder and two straws in it.
They were just looking for some indication as to which of their children’s friends owned the bag, and as I say, the ‘stuff’ was on top and immediately noticeable.
Retro cop, not even going to bother answering your comment.
Perhaps I should have given you the whole picture. They were away for the day visiting family, and came back late evening to find the cleaner ensconced in their house (she is only due to be there once a week).
She obviously thought they would be gone for the weekend, and was very flustered when they opened the front door. It makes them wonder how often she has ‘stayed’ at their house when they have been away on holiday.

Thats two separate things tbh, her making herself comfy when they aren't there. I still don't think they should be rummaging through her bag, they have no proof it was coke and thus STILL should not be spreading gossip about her.

dont they have CCTV -one of my frenz went on holiday and found the key holder had taken walk-ins into their house to er kiss them .....

no they did not sell the videos.

There is no legal duty to - so it is up to them. I mean it is very common.

oh and I think they were probably paying the cleaner too much

In their shoes, I'd be content with having fired her for abusing my trust (staying over, etc) rather than the powder in her *private* bag.
I might decide to leave the 'substance' out of my retelling the tale to my friends, too.

I agree with jack but it all does depend on the circumstances. Sounds like she was having a mini party whilst the hosts were 'out of town'

I would personally be more upset with the abuse of trust more than the abuse of drugs also.
