Vehicles Parked On The Roadside Just For Advertising Purposes.
80 Answers
A vehicle belonging to "Door Doctor" has been parked continually on our road for almost 6 months now. It never moves,, it's just for advertising purposes. It is taxed. It is a residential road . Has anyone else experienced the same situation and been able to have it moved? The company also has another of the vans parked around Bingley purely for the same purpose. Is there a limit to the length of time a vehicle can be parked in the same place on a public highway. Any advice would be welcome please.

We were told that , that was OK as there was nothing to say how far it had to be moved to avoid being a 'static' sign ! Someone was told moving it 6ft once every 6 months was enough ! So that's all it did ! 6ft up the road then a few weeks later 6 ft back down again !

I am with Dannyk13 on this issue.
The London Borough of Croydon use Section 38 of the London Authorities Act 1990 to enforce illegal Street Trading by use of advertisments on a Public Highway. That includes any goods or services advertising without a Street Traders Licence.
Perhaps the complainant should enquire with their local council and their current Bye laws with regards to this nuisance.
