Hand Caught In Bus Doors
12 Answers
the girlfriend of the younger alba was boarding when the bus doors shut, ''trapping'' her wrist and hand inside the bus. Driver looked at her and started to drive off.
Fortunately she managed to pull her hand out and subsequently phone bus company and complained.
They have told her they will investigate and will respond within 14 days.
She was wondering what to do if they don't.
Who else could she complain to?

(I suggest that that link might be appropriate for reporting the failure of the company to properly investigate a safety matter, if that occurs, but that it's probably not appropriate for reporting the initial incident)

Thanks Chris. Have noted the second link.
Think she's just a bit concerned about what to do if what is supposed to happen, doesn't.
(well, that's as clear as mud !!)
All she really wants is a sincere apology.
Ummm, not, fortunately not. A few inches further up the wrist and doors would have closed on her fistula.
They didn't, so that's good at least.
Helluva fright tho.

i'm not second-guessing your particular situation. there was a discussion about transport doors at work recently, and it's currently the case that doors on buses and trains do not work like lift doors in that they won't re-open if you insert your hand/arm/foot - they will instead trap you. whether bus and train doors should be made to operate like lift doors is maybe a debate to be had, balancing the risk of injury against the possibility of indefinite delays due to repeated boarding attempts.
Possible the door was faulty because the door should have automatically re-opened when bus was stationary and not fully closed.

Doesn't excuse the bus drivers attitude so continue with the complaint. Also, did the bus driver carry out the appropriate vehicle checks before taking over the vehicle?
