My son has worked for NHS for several years. He recently applied for a position within the NHS in a different area was offered the chance to phone for an appointment for interview or to withdraw his application. As he had decided it was actually too far to travel he withdrew his application. Now a more local vacancy has arisen but when he tries to apply online it will not let him proceed. Could this be because he withdrew from the first one. Could his name be blacklisted (for want of a better word) or is there some other reason this could occur

It could be there is a box he hasn't filled-in or ticked to acknowledge that he agrees to something
maybe its an internal position?
I understood that he already works for NHS though bednobs?

I expect the either the advertised position's been withdrawn or there's a glitch on the NHS jobsite. I'd suggest setting up a dummy profile on there and seeing if the same thing happens.

hi china - when they say "internal candidates only", it usually means withing that organisation. for example, the same community trust or the same foundation trust, not the wider NHS
I do hawever agree with the general point that the NHS jobs website is sometimes a dick
Ah I get what you mean now
