Question About Changing Executor Of Will.

Sorry to say my SiL has just died. She and my brother made a Joint Will in which they appointed their Solicitor as Executor. He now wants to execute the Will himself. Can he do this and if so how does he go about it?
Has anyone any experience of this? Thank you.

Thanks Woof. I typed my last post ages ago but didn't press send because I have been talking to brother and other relatives. Nor did I read your before I posted it. I shall copy and paste yours to him thank you.
He has said she stipulated she wouldn't want flowers because she thought they were a waste of money and she didn't want anybody at her funeral either LOL. She was not a very sociable person in life and she's carrying that on on bless her.

according to a website i just looked at yes they can be contaminated, perhaps they could be disposed of by the hospital??? or if he could wear gloves, mask at the hospital, perhaps that will suffice.

LB. If he doesn't want the clothes back he needn't collect. When MrG died I had a phone call from the hospital asking what to do with the clothing left in his room. I asked them to dispose of it.

He doesn't know what he wants, he's all over the place. If it was me I'd want them disposed of as well. He does want her phone and a very nice wrist watch which she was still wearing yesterday.
I'll see how is in the morning and hope he gets some sleep.
