Dropped Kerb/Gateposts
What, if any, are the rules regarding having a dropped kerb outside your home that is only two gates width, but due to the angle and position of the drive, there are four gates. This means that two gates and the respective post are beyond the dropped kerb. I am having constant issues with pig ignorant parkers who park leaving only two gates width to get into my driveway.

I read it that the gates are far wider than the dropped kerb and people are parking outside the drop but still within the width of the gates. The poster thinks that people should leave the full width of the gates clear where they are only leaving the drop clear.

Rule 243 of The Highway Code states,
"DO NOT stop or park:
...
in front of an entrance to a property
..."
The fact that "DO", rather than "MUST" is used, means it is not a legal requirement to obey that Rule.
Although awkward to use the entrance, if folk are not parking in front of the dropped kerbs, they are following The Highway Code.

It would appear that my question is not clear enough as to what my intentions are. I was simply asking the legalities of parking across gate posts which do not align with the gate posts. With regards to "assuming the owners made sure the dropped kerbs where the appropriate width to begin with" from thecorbyloon, I purchased the property as it is and I am fully aware that to put a dropped kerb outside my property I need to apply for planning permission from the local city council and I am not going to the expense of doing that. Many thanks for the positive responses and as for the rest.....
I'd put any work on hold for a while, buy an old Landrover with uprated front and rear protection and conduct experimental exit and entrance moves at different times of day, just to see if there's the danger of contact between vehicles.
Modern ones are notoriously flimsy and you may have to clear away pieces of plastic from the front of your property.
Wear gloves when lifting debris and park your valuable vehicle elsewhere when experiments are over for the day.
