Simple Caution Came Up On Dbs

So I got a conditional job offer. DBS Came back with a caution. I’m worried sick. Been waiting for this for 4 weeks. Absolutely devastated. Has anyone got an admin job at NHS and has a caution? Thanks

Well it depends whether it was threatening or maybe it was to a customer/patient/child.... that could make a difference

JuNo idea whats happened in this case Hymie but can see sitautions where it might be more serious say if a teacher sent a sweary text to there student or a social worker sent a text abusing a client, but its more likeley to end up on DBS for anyone if its threatening text

If its minor then its up to the discretion of the employer but if its not relavant to this job your probably okay

There's a chance that HR at the NHS will see the caution and what is was for and ignore it. I suppose it depends on the role?

But wouldn’t the DBS entry be for threatening ‘behaviour’ (or whatever) and not swearing?

yeah - if you are going to shift and hide all their dead bodies, who gives a damn whether you have a caution...?

It was text between family. Domestic dispute. Not threatening in anyway, but the police deemed it threatening/harassment. Was just one message!! Never have I ever been in bother with the law before. Family cause so much problems!!

^^^ That sounds like your typical Pc Plod who doesn't know the law! A single text can't be 'harassment' because the legal definition of that offence refers to a 'course of conduct', which would require at least two texts to be sent.

The guidance for NHS employers is that, where necessary, they should give a prospective employee the opportunity to explain the circumstances that resulted in a conviction or caution. So it's unlikely that the employer would reject your application outright because of the caution and, given the nature of the circumstances, also unlikely that they'd do so after you'd explained the matter.
