Me too. I was wondering what they would have done with the coffin being so exposed if it had.
I would imagine some sort of canopy would have been erected or a horse drawn carriage may be on standby
Me too, fruitsalad.
I've been quite lucky with funerals, so to speak. Can't recall one i've attended when it rained. Boh my mum and dad's funerals took place in 'shirt-sleeve' weather. Now i've said that, it will most likely rain when i'm being carried high:-J
They have been so fortunate with the weather both in Scotland and England - think the only time I noticed it was raining was when the Queen's coffin was being taken into Buckingham Palace on her return from Edinburgh.
Are the royals going to Windsor by helicopter?
They are following in cars.
I'll bet those who queued for hours on end to pay their respects over the last few days are also grateful the heavens didn't open.
Better than her coronation. That was in June and it poured.
Thanks hazlinny. There’s been no coverage of that so I thought they must be going by helicopter to arrive before the hearse. Ever practical, that would give them time to nip to the loo between services, I thought. It’s a long day.
^^ Actually TV has just said that some Royals are waiting at Windsor but main members will be in the cars - I think!
similar for her father's funeral, though that was February so rather chillier

Hazlinny, the royals were all standing watching the hearse drive off at Wellington Arch. I’m perplexed.
^^ Guess we'll just have to wait till they emerge from the cars at Windsor!!
I noticed that some appeared to leave before the coffin- I thought they were Eugenie and Beatrice, but I may me wrong.
Also would the hearse not proceed at a snail’s pace so the family could overtake them
The Royals don't appear to have had any break for even a glass of water (or the loo !) Straight from the funeral to a very very long walk, they must have been dehydrated and tired.
If they're dehydrated, they won't need the loo.
I'm sure I saw the Royal Standard being raised at Windsor Castle and they said the King had just arrived, about 15 minutes ago. They could have driven by a more direct route than the hearse which went so that more people could see it
We’d have noticed cars overtaking the hearse - and that would have been a big ‘no’ anyway. Perhaps they’ve gone by a different route.
