In A Case Where It Is One Person's Word Against Another And The Prosecution Have Called For A Psychiatric Report On The Alledged Victim, Can This Result In The Case Being Thrown Out?

In this case the victim has brought similar charges against others that failed. A court date has been set 2 years away but it goes back to court this month for the report. No plea has been entered yet it is listed as expecting not guilty plea. Also does the defendant have to make a plea before the case can be thrown out?

there is a court date but no plea - needs more detail. I am pretty sure the parties have to be told if there is an application to throw out
