Contractor Works

I live in an apartment and it would seem that contractors are turning up as and when they like to carry out non emergency repairs in the communal area and the noise that is being made is absolutely horrendous.

I appreciate if emergency works have to be carried out but this isn’t the case.

This is disturbing my peace and enjoyment in my home.

I have suggested to the scheme manager that a rota of works due to be carried out be displayed in the foyer of the builder, so i and others are aware and can make alternative arrangements for the works take place. This was dismissed by the scheme manager, so I have suggested it to the ceo of the company.

Surely contractors cannot just turn up as and when they feel like and make my life a misery?

If it's any consolation, this is common practice in ttts favourite country, Spain!
Is it day time hours?
Have you asked how long the works will take? Hopefully they’ll be finished soon. It’s probably something you’ll
just have to live with for a while.

It is in daytime hours.
At least your place is being properly maintained. If it is being done on weekdays and not too early in the morning, then I think you should accept it.
It's not really very different from the noise and mess I have to live with when my neighbours get work done. We just have to live with it.
When my neighbour was pile driving for weeks it was a nightmare but as they were working within the allowed times there was nothing I could do.
Presumably there is a freeholder who has to maintain the whole property's communal parts. You should have some documentation, e.g. sale or rental contract which specifies all this stuff. Would you prefer the common parts and externals to be left in a bad state?
if it is an emergency - yes they can.

routine works are 9am-5pm week days - and emergencies I wd a thought are 24 h and er without notice
It seems annoying but it won't last for ever.
