Has Anyone Ever Had Any Dealings With Keoghs ?
Had a letter from Keoghs last week. Apparently they've been contacted by a car insurance company to represent me in a claim following a shunt in July 2021. There was no injuries, my car had no damage, the damage to the other car couldn't have possibly been caused by me (it was little more than a tap, we were driving so slowly !) but I was automatically blamed as I was driving behind when the car in front of me inexplicably slammed on his brakes.
I did have a call from the insurance company some time later in 2021, telling me to expect a call from a solicitor as 1 of the 2 occupants was claiming personal injury (was obviously a scam) but not to worry, they would deal with it. I never heard any more.
I've tried contacting the insurance company but can't get thru' (I'm not insured with them any more). The letter states they will represent me unless I tell them otherwise. Having never heard of them I checked online. Their Trustpilot reviews are appalling, not a company I want anything to do with !
If I tell them I don't want their "services", what's likely to happen ?

No replies. And obviously I've declared the "accident" with subsequent insurers. Bad enough that's had my premiums going thru' the roof when *they* caused it without these con merchants now apparently "suing" me too !
That's all pretty irrelevant now tbh, I just don't know what I'm supposed to do about their [fraudulent !] claim for damages, injury (I don't know what it's for !) 2yrs later !
I've tried contacting the insurers again, using different options. Gave up again 1st time after 30mins, 2nd time I did get as far as giving bot my details, was put thru' - I could hear voices in an office - then they cut me off ! :((
Am at my wit's end with this & nowhere to go with it now.

They *have* been appointed by the insurers, & not a scam, they look a legit company, there is an e-mail address & phone number & an individual's name - but take a look at their Trustpilot reviews ! I don't want anything to do with them. And if I just leave it, looks like potentially I'll have bailiffs at my door. Much the same, judging by the reviews, as if I contact them.
I have been reading your replies bobbinwales, altho' a lot of your comments were covered in my original question. If you were to read the reviews I think you'd see why I'm concerned.

Oh, & in the 10 page letter Keoghs have sent, that says it contains everything I need to know actually tells me - nothing. Apart from a date in July 2021, & the insurance company. I have no clue what the claim is for. So I have *nothing* to take to a solicitor or CAB. I'm miffed enough that they have my address, I don't want to ring or e-mail them, I want to speak to the insurers. But I can't. So I came here.
Of course there's nothing stopping me writing but I want no dealings with them.
PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS ! Would you want anything to do with them ?
Help ME claim ? What ?! I didn't make any claim, no damage to my car or me. Or them !
The 1st line says "We have received instructions from [insurer] to represent your interests in a claim which has been made by the Claimant after the above accident".
I'm the defendant in other words. I have no idea what this 2yr old claim is. This is why I asked if anyone else has had a similar situation. Clearly, with respect bobbinwales - you haven't.

I need to repeat an important bit I included in my question,
"The letter states they will represent me unless I tell them otherwise."
Sorry fripfrip, I don't want to contact them. I don't want them contacting me. If someone would just read the reviews they'd see I'm not overreacting.
So my question remains, has anyone had a situation like this & what would be the likely outcome other than (seems to me at the moment) bailiffs visit sometime in the next few years, whether they "represent" me or not.
