No. Probate is the legal right to deal with someone's property, money and possessions (their 'estate') when they die. You should not make any financial plans or put property on the market until you've got probate.

My go: yes is the answer so long as you keep records. So photograph the garage and then sell. The moolah should go into the executors account ( if there is one)  - NOT the deceased's whose acct should have been frozen a few days after the death

I photographed every room in my late mothers house ( jeez you should have heard the squawking on AB when I said that) and then we proceeded to sell. I cant recollect when the big sale was.

oh, and my gt nephew has offered ( and been accepted) on a house where they are waiting for probate - look no ouija board

these remarks ( as a walk-in) do NOT apply to those dying intestate when you have to wait for letters of administration

 

what picker hasn't said is if they are the only executor.
