I knew someone who worked for the probation service in Gloucester, she told me there was an old lag who couldn't face life outside of prison having spent so much of his life inside. 

When he was released he would do something like smash a shop window to get arrested so he could be locked up again.

I knew someone like that, Khandro. Only served short sentences but he had had over 30 christmas dinners inside.
