i got to my car after work and there was a 30 fixed penalty for parking, 'in what the officer considers a restricted street'. I have parked in that spot 5 days a week since march this year, and before that with my last car, for 2 years, how come today it is 'considered a restricted street' ? What should i do?
The issuing of a fixed penalty ticket does not prove guilt. It just says that no proceedings will be taken in court for 21 days and if you pay the suggested fine, it will not happen. If you feel you have a case and were not guilty, you have the right to have the matter heard. The fine, if you are found guilty may be higher than the fixed penalty. Your choice.
no i can't i am off for two days, but i shall park in the exact same place and me thinks i have a fight on my hands cos i worked out that i have parked in that exact spot over 300 times and never got a ticket.
but i have and there is nothing at all in that street that makes it a restricted street, i think the git was thinking i was parking against those concrete bollard things that the fire brigade can remove if they need to gain access, but if they removed them they would have had to have dismantled a set of steel barriers to the dual carriageway first to get their appliance thru.
would you believe I have just got another ticket today in another town? lol, I was 25 mins late getting back to the car cos i was booking a holiday and the agenrt took ages on the phone :( Should I go for the hat tricxk? lol
It isn't that i feel I have 'got away with it' there are no markings, signs, restriction notices at all, the yellow lines finish 50 yards further up the road with a definate end line, so it isn't like they have worn away. i am not the only one that parks there, 10 or so other cars are in the same bit of road every day, they have been parking there for years apparently, it makes no sense, i shall defiinately be appealing that one.
