where are a dead persons will kept and how can i get hold of it???

could anyone please tell me where a dead persons will is kept and is there any way of getting hold of it, with out going to the next of kin??????????????

If it is a will that recently went to probate it is a public document and wil be at the local Probate office, check your phone book, a will is granted probate in the office covering where they lived.
The information you will need is their name, date of death, place of death, probably that will do for a modern will.

If the person died intestate the family will have applied for letters of administration via a solicitor, which means the estate is subject to death duty and the settlement would take longer..
