Can you still claim housing benefit if you rent your house from a family member such as a parent?

No
If the property is a totally seperate house and the parents live in one and have a mortgage to pay on another and you live in the second house and have a tenancy agreement then I really would imagine so yes.

If you live with your parent/parents and you are on benefit and they share all the facilities with you as a family then no.

Fill the form in it costs nothing .
Why would it matter who is the landlord?
Im pretty sure you cant.
Yes.
well i am sure you can - because i do it on occasion!

my father is a landlord of numerous properties - it is part of his business - i am tenant like any other.

why should he lose money form his business just becasue i am his daughter? - i am 34 - he has no
legal responsibility to house me for free.

when i work i pay him.
It does ask on the form if the Landlord is related to you but other that that I don't know.
You cannot get HB if you live in the same house as a relative who is your landlord.

If you live in a house owned by a relative but he/she doesn't live there then you can get HB if the Council is satisfied the arrnagement is an arms length commercial one, with a proper tenancy agreement and normal terms as to rent etc.
^^^^^^ that's what i said, i am sure folk think i am thick
Yes you can because I do! Have to have valid tenancy agreement though.
its not that dot, lol, it just that its clear that some people give answers to questions based on their assumptions rather than actually knowing the answers, and therefore often give wrong or misleading answers - as a few on this thread have - so it helps to get more than one confirming reply

( and you did say 'i would imagine so' which is a bit uncertain)
