If i cant find the owners of the house and i would like to buy it, where does the law in scotland stand with this? say the people are no longer alive etc,
how do i find out if i can purchase it?
any help would be great thanks

You need to look up the rules in Scotland for 'bona vacantia' - meaning ownerless goods.
