An ex-girlfriend is currently pregnant which she claims to be my child. However she has recently told me that she was not actually taking the pill despite the fact she showed me some medication when we were dating and was happy to let me believe she was taking the pill. I feel like i was tricked into this situation.

I am currently a university student and i would like to know if this situation will affect my maintenance payments upon graduation. Also, would this make any difference as to who may gain custody of the child?

Maintenance payments would not be affected by this. In any case it would be your word against hers.

If you were sure you didn't want a baby - why didn't you use a condom?
Sorry to hear about that, however she will have to prove you are the dad so if she is sure you are then she surely wont mind the baby having a dna test to prove you are - take it from there
if the child turns out to be yours, all you can do is ur best by it. even if u and your ex do not get on, remember she is the childs mother and ul have to try and get on for the childs sake. stability is the best thing you can offer your child ... and thats free. good luck :)
