Struct of solicitors can they still work in the legal profession?

I was recently told of a solicitor, who runs his own practice, was struck off by the law society . He was using his clients monies to purchase properties for himself on a buy to let basis.. He is still involved in the practice and works there in a advisory capacity . This to me seems immoral. Is this right or wrong?

Morally - wrong wrong wrong - But legally I think as he's been struck off he can't actually be a solicitor any more - so he can't be in charge of any money transactions without a partners say so - he may have another partner - it may say so on his letterheads. If he's a sole practitioner he may have an accountant overseeing the finances. If you have any doubts contact the Law Society - they will look into it. Other cases continue and clients do like one solicitor involved from beginning to the end he may advise but he cannot and should not be in charge of the client account for the practice.
