Deeds have been done away with for a few years now, It is your entry on the Register at the Land Registry which counts now. You are therefore endeavouring to change the Register to show your name as sole proprietor. Your case is a bit odd, because when you handed over your money it is normal for the ex to sign the appropriate Land Registry forms to effect the name change. You do not have to wait until your divorce comes through, that has nothing to do with it. If you have a mortgage, everything will be done now by your lender and you should speak to them. Without a mortgage you can in fact DIY, or if you think this might be a bit much then instruct a solicitor.
