dose any know about the law changing to 39 weeks and not 26weeks leave and were I can find it in writing dose my partner get longer or it just 2 weeks

Changes to SMP occur 1 April 2007...

thats when the changes occur but it is valid for babies due on or after the 1st April. So if your due date is end March you miss out. I know of one woman who has asked her midwife to change her due date by 1 day pruely so that she is covered by the new maternity leave.
