My friend is taking driving lessons and her boyfriend is taking her out in his car on a night, but they have a big dog and take this with them when there out, Ive told her this is stupid as its a big dog and could be dangerous but is there a law about it?

no law against having a dog in the car, unless it's driving of course!

I think there is a new law that says dogs have to be restrained in cars nowadays.
You can buy a special harness for the dog that then clips onto the seatbelt.
Maybe you could check on the pets section.
