Tenancy and Human Rights.
Because I am in temporary accommodation I have a non-secure tenancy and my solicitor has informed me that if the council wish to evict me they can take me to court and all they have to do is tell the council that they want the property, even if they have no reason, and the judge will grant it without listening to anything I may have to say.
Surely this violates the Human Rights which states that we are entitled to a fair trial in a court of law? I am not in arrears, nor am I an anti-social neighbour. The council wish to evict me because I am refusing to be moved to a sink estate because my young son is settled in his present school after coming out of care. I think non-secure tenancies violate the Human Rights Act in principle. Any answers?
