How long ago was this and did they catch the person responsible?
I would say if it wasn't that long ago you could go for it.

It doesnt matter whether they caught the person who did it if you are going for compensation, I was assaulted in an attempted mugging and got compensation for my injuries, and the attackers were never caught

The attacker was caught and I am now 22 so quite a few years ago!
Under normal circumstances you have 2 years from the date of the offence to make a claim.

Here is a link to the criminal injuries site with an online questionnaire which should determine if you are elligible

I think you are probably too late to claim now, it is two years from the date of the incident.
