Yes.

nder the terms of Data Protection legislation, individual access to personal data, of which that individual is the data subject, must be permitted providing:

* The request is made in writing;
* A specified fee is paid for each individual search;
* The TMBC's Data Controller is supplied with sufficient information to satisfy him or her self as to the identity of the person making the request;
* The person making the request provides sufficient and accurate information about the time, date and place to enable the data controller to locate the information which that person seeks, (it is recognised that a person making a request is unlikely to know the precise time. Under those circumstances it is suggested that within one hour of accuracy would be a reasonable requirement);
* The person making the request is only shown information relevant to that particular search and which contains personal data of her or him self only, unless all other individuals who may be identified from the same information have consented to the disclosure.

thanx ethel. that was unbelievably helpful. i can see i have a lot of paper work ahead of me. it is probably going to take months to get through the red tape only for them to end up denying my request.They don't exactly make it easy for you do they?
The likeliest response is 'we do not retain the data for more than a few days'
Ethel - surely your answer is only relevant if the person was the actual subject of the CCTV footage and only in certain circumstances. The question clearly states that "images of myself caught on cctv"

This question was asked a few weeks ago by the same person.

It must be a little bit of a fruitless task requesting footage of yourself stood at a bar or passing a shop as there are so many places in this day and age that you are being "caught" on camera whether you mean caught as in doing something inparticular or just caught as in a passing glimpse or passing through.

The asker did not elaborate as to when and in which circumstances he thinks he was "caught on camera" and I think its giving a little false hope and a stock answer of Yes being a little innappropriate and misleading.
I don't think I gave false hope or misleading information.

The information makes it perfectly clear that the OP would:

1. Have to pay for each search
2. Know dates
3. Know times
4. Know vicintiy
5. Will not be shown anything unless other people in the footage consent.

This is clearly all prohibitive. But if the OP is accused of a serious crime and knows he/she was elsewhere at the time and may be able to prove it with CCTV footage, then I am not going to say it is impossible.

My answer made it very clear it is a difficult thing to do.
Who are we talking about here? The government, the police, local councils, private business owners or do the rules apply to everyone - as I'm sure that most private business would not be bothered to search through footage just so the person on that footage can have a look at it if no crime has been committed ?
