The violent prisoner Charles Bronson changed his name whilst in prison. He's still there.
You have merely changed your name.
As you were doing more than 30mph above the speed limit, a ban is a likely possibility.
You will be fined up to a maximum of 1000 and have between 3 and 6 points put on your licence.

It makes my blood boil as to why people come on here trying to get an excuse to get away with things especially speeding and car offences. Why do you think there are so many accidents and people especially children killed .It is because of the likes of you and your speeding and you wittle you are afraid you will lose your job you should have thought of that in the first place.
LOL bob - I'm fine thanks. :)
Charles Bronson is an actor.
Sadly, we have our very own Charles Bronson in the UK

A ban is almost inevitable. The excess speed is so great that it's outside of the range shown in the magistrates' sentencing guidelines:

My guess is that the court will be thinking of something in the order of 6 points, 56 days ban , 300 fine and 30 costs. If you tell the court that you'll lose your job, the magistrates might cut the fine to 50 and waive the costs but they will still impose the ban.

Even though your name has now changed ,you as a person still received a summons for speeding. What happened after the offence took place is only detail.
There are guidelines with regard to traffic offences however different people have different circumstances and really it is up to the magistrate on the day to enforce the penalty as he /she sees fit and appropriate.

if changing your name - a very simple thing to do - wiped out all your debts and crimes, don't you think everyone would be doing it?
some people would have gone through the phone book by now.
the fact that you think you are now 'technically someone else', just because you filled in a form and took it to an office is almost as stupid as doing 88 in a 50!
did you think you were in the delorean or something?

first of all, my name was changed for different reasons all together, secondly, charles bronson is a killer, im not, and at no point have i made excuses for my speed, there were no kids on the road as it was a dual carriage way that goes from 70mph to 50 mph for about a mile and was at night with no traffic on the road, i have already told the police i was guilty of the offence, my question was to try and find out what happens now and if changing my name mattered.
and to wendilla, it ****** me off too that people like you dont read the question properly and judge people without knowing them, im sure that you have never done anything wrong, model citizen, i suppopse your one of those annoying sunday drivers when your on the road, the sort that everyone gets stuck behind and ends up having an accident because they have tried over taking you for driving too slow, slow drivers cause accidents too!!!!!!!!!!!!

i don't think I have ever read such a long and indignant response, that actually says nothing at all!
every word of it is irrelevant, pointless and i can't really understand why you wrote any of it... if you think that is presenting a case or defending yourself, you have really just made yourself sound stupid.
you moan about people not reading the question properly, well there is a difference between merely reading the words, and comprehending what is meant - you may want to reread what has been said, and attempt to understand.

magic moe .Your question reads loud and clear that you put this up to see if there was anyway you could get out of this by changing your name. How thick can one get .And don't criticize by driving at least I don't have to worry about getting a ban and losing my job.Just how can you be technically someone else?Grow up .I hope they throw the book at you and the next time you speed I hope it is only yourself you hurt if you have an accident and no one else.Perhaps if you wave your wand it might go away.
the fact that the road went from a 70 to a 50mph still bears no relation to the fact that you were clocked at 88MPH!
Take the punishment on the chin, it was you that was breaking the law regardless of what your name was at the time. To many people on AB seem to want to find any technicalilty to get away with breaking the law, admit responsibility and learn from your mistake.
