filing for custody from a different province

I live in bc My ex has interm custody of my daughter in sask. She was born in Alberta. I want to file for Joint can I file from Bc Or do I need to file from the province in which my daughter resides?

Can a court case be postponed at short notice?

Actually, Britsh Columbia, Saskatchewan and Alberta are Canadian Provinces...
If Canadian laws are similar to U.S. in this case, you'll need to seek amendment of the original order in the Province where it was issued... This can be done, however, by an attorney in the original issuing Province... again, only if the laws are similar to here in the U.S.
