although my daughter has comprehensive cover on her car,she is allowing her partner to drive it.As he has no insurance of his own,and is not on her policy,what penalties will she face,if he is stopped by the police,or has an accident?

Accident - no cover exists. S/he will have to pay for everything except third party personal injury claims.

Stopped by police - charged with allowing him to drive without insurance. Don't know what the penalty is
also car could be seized and crushed in certain areas of england,is your daughter mad or just plain stupid
Unless it has been increased recently. the maximum fine for causing or permitting him to drive without insurance is �5000. The court will put betwen 6 and 8 points on her licence. They also have the power to disqualify for any period and/or order a re-test. Also, she may have priced herself out of the market next time she wants to renew her insurance.
If he was to kill someone think of what that means.

Always think of the worse situation as it usually happens and we have to clear the mess.

We then go home and try and forget about it - the biggest loser is the innocent victim and thier family.

At least if the insurance is in place the money is a comfort to the relatives.

I agree with everything you have said.I am just hoping that if my daughter reads this,she will take notice of you all,because she isnt listening to me.I think she belives I'm just being dramatic.
