my partner was out on his bike at weekend and police pulled over for speeding, they advised that would state 110mph, but said that he was riding curtious and well as was moving out of way for other traffic, which was of course going faster but the police said are after bikers. Anyhow he has 3 points all ready and police say that most likely to get 6 points and ban, so was wondering when ban is over is he left with 9 points for another 3 years

Is this a joke? Riding curtious at 110? Are you honestly saying that cars were overtaking him at more than 110 mph? And I suppose the moon is made of cheese
he will be banned straight away, over 100 is a automatic ban with most magistrates

yes believe it or not i was on the back of the bike, on a bypass and cars where passing us,
This happenned to me, I was given a ban for 56 days and, what the magistrate at the time referred to, as a "nominal" 6 points. When I got my licence back the offence was there but with 0 points so clearly "nominal" meant that it was a 6 point offence but banning meant they didn't count for future totting up, though the endorsement is on the licence for the usual amount of time. So to answer your question he will have 3 points when he get's his licence back. There's no such thing as an "automatic" ban, the JP always has discretion but a ban is almost certain in this case.

thanks for answer loosehead,
and yeah right the cars were going faster as said orginally the police are after bikers, is it so hard to believe, good job we weren't doing 170+
I'm glad the old bill are after you if you think doing 110 on a public road is responsible behaviour. Try not wearing your helmet the next time you go out, after all it's not for keeping your brains intact is it??
