legal battle with partner over daughter

my son has a 2 year old daughter, he split from partner. she stopped him seeing daughter saying he was unfit etc. said they had to go to mediation, he did once then it was stopped by her, with no expalaination. she know wants to go to court but he cannot aford solicitor, can he go on his own.

I'd strongly advise he sees a solicitor who deals in family law. Most law firms offer a free 30 min consultation. At the same time he'll be able to find out if he's eligible for legal aid. Failing that, the Citizens Advice Bureau may be able to offer limited advice. Another organisation which may be able to offer advice is CAFCAS (children & family court advisory service) - they'll be in the phone book.

Yes, he can represent himself.

My husband did the same after running out of money for his solicitor..the case went on for ages, and in the end his solicitor advised he represent himself as he became quite experienced!

I would agree with an initial consultation though ~ just so he knows what he is up against, and advice can be given.
