Running a red light ..
My brother was pulled over by the police on monday for running a red light. He was in my mums car in which he is not insured. They have compounded her car until my brother pays a fine to get it back. What form of punishment so to speak will he receive from this; penalty points? Loss of his license? (He had no previous points) or a fines?
Many thanks.
Many thanks.

However, the problems I see are with your mother.
1) If she knew he had no insurance she is permitting the offence (or aid and abetting)
2) If she had no knowledge then he has taken the car without consent (TWOC). Either way, she maybe be as bu66ered as him.
Silly, silly boy, your brother.

3 points for the red light + 60. 6-8 for no insurance +Hefty. No ban for totting up but every chance of getting one for the no insurance although he may get a heavy fine if the Beak thinks he's rich enough.
Now stand back for the "No insurance" evangelists, come on Norman you know you want to.....
