my neighbour doesnt seem to work, was made bankrupt, the car went, but she still seems to live a better standard of life than me, i work constantly, there was a whisper that she had property surely that had to be declared, by the way scottish law is there any difference, it would make my day if i could find out what she was up to

Was she made bankrupt or her company? if it was just her company that was made bankrupt she could have been left with all her financial affairs intact and her properties, the cay may have belonged to the company.

How do you know she is in receipt of any benefits?

If she owns properties she may a good income from the rentals. She may have sold them and living off investments.

She may work from home, have a private pension, be maintained by an ex-husband, inherited money, had a compensation pay out, won the lottery.... the possibilities are endless.

ethel, the whole point of being bankrupt is you dont have any assets or income, they are taken by the courts, to pay off your debts

Maybe they did take enough of her assets to settle the debts, they don't just seize everything you own, just enough to settle the debts!!
Maybe they didn't need to take her other properties?

I'm sure you will get to the bottom of it, knowing that she was made bankrupt isn't enough to satisfy you is it!!!!
