my husband has accumulated 12 points in 3 years - by the offence date. We are now awaiting summons for totting up procedure - what date would the 6 month ban be valid from - the last offence date or the court date.
The last offence occurred in Dec 06.
thanks

has he been driving since december 06? I presume if they removed his licence in Dec it might be back dated but why then would they take him to court?

no he was flashed in dec 06 in his lorry it took until mar 07 for the nip/conditional offer to come to our home address.
we sent his licence and a cheque to accept conditional offer but was refused and was informed that the courts would be informed under the totting up procedure so now waiting for next letter to be summoned to court - trying to find out if ban will apply from date of offence or from date of court appearance
From the date of the sentence, not the offence.
If the ban started from the date of the offence, he could be prosecuted for driving whilst disqualified - for driving before he was sentenced!
