cameras in the workplace

what is the rule about cameras in the workplace? is it legal to capture sound on these too?

we have them in my place of work and they've been getting upgraded, i think they're also having sound on.

The recording of sound is tricky - your employer can certainly record your business telephone calls.

I doubt these cameras would be set to record sound, unless you work in a very quiet office. But you are within your rights to ask.
