how can i find out if a paedophile is in my area?

hi all could anyone tell me if its at all possible to find out if a paedophile is living close by. The reason i ask is a man who moved nearby a few months ago who i have thought was a lovely quiet man had all his windows put through last night and the words paedo sprayed on his walls. its really sickened me because i have 2 young kids. i hope its not true but i would like to know can anyone help thanks

Well the short answer is, you cant.

It's more than likely that someone has it in for your poor neighbour and has daubed his walls with possibly the worst thing you can accuse someone of being. If you're aware of exactly where your children are all of the time, which I'm sure you are, then I wouldn't be unduly worried if I were you.

i cant help but worry my kids are 9 and 11 and wander around the area and i cant keep them tied to my apron strings as much as i would like to. oh my god while i was looking at what i was typing ilooked to the right of my screen and in capital letters it says FIND SEX OFFENDERS so im going to take a look. how ironic

All because the thick, uneducated yobs didn't understand the difference between a paediatrician and a paedophile.

You are right not to keep your children wrapped up in cotton wool, but make sure they know how to keep themselves safe, without frightening them.

Being close mates with a copper is about the only way you'll find out. What would you do with that information though? If he is a registered sex offender he will be checked on regularly, wouldn't be allowed near schools etc etc My friend is a policeman and a big part of his job is keeping tabs on them.

There are 5 schedule 1 offenders living withing 200 metres from me. 3 of them I dont have the foggiest what they have actually done but I certainly havent spread that knowledge about. I dont live in the best area of town but my friend who does, her hubby is a policeman and they have about the same amount living in their area too.

They are going o be wherever you live, just making sure your kids know about not talking to strangers etc is the best you can do.

well someone would not destroy a property for nothing, a peadophile near me had his house sprayed with the same sort of stuff, from experience i dont let anyone near my child it may seem extreme but a peadophile destroyed my family, they are very clever people & worm there way into your life, the best thing you can do is tell your kids about the dangers of peadophiles & keep a close eye on them.

i think mrstrunchbul are right to be protective there your children your bound to be like that i know if any1 hurt my two children leo and chanel leo age 6 and chanel age 3 i would happily do jail to kill that peado i think you should find a site that could tell you if he is on the register hope you find what your looking for good luck x

your right 2b worried mrstrunchbul i am constaly worried for my children who r 3 and 6 little girl is 3 an boy 6 i would do jail 4 killing sum1 who hurt my kidsthere my world am there 2 protect them and do not ever leave ur children with people u dont no and also sit them down and explain that if some1 tries 2 hurt them they try and get away and scear very loudly an alert the police and i fink any1 moving in 2 a street who is a peado all neighbours should be told straight away look on line and try the sex register 2 c if any1 in ur area on there it might help good luck x
