Your cobblers should be able to help. Ask them first before trying your own cleaning prowess in any case. I've used normal diluted clothes cleaning solutions in the past with fairly good results but I'm not sure how expensive your shoes are. With e.g. Manolos I'd definitely take them to a professional.
Steam cleaning lol!

Thank you everyone. Have tried the baby wipes as they are great for most things but no good on this occasion.
I've got a steam cleaner so may give it a try if all else fails and also try out the diluted clothes cleaning solution.
The shoes will be useless anyway if i don't give it a go and they are beautiful so many thanks all of you and will let you know if anything works.
Best wishes

I know this question was asked a while ago but thought I might be able to help, just in case your shoes are still sitting at the bottom of the wardrobe or anyone else is reading this!!
Remove the crusts from a slice of white bread and roll the crust into a ball. Rub this over the stain & it'll either fade dramatically or come out completely!
Sounds crazy but works! Almost completely removed a big black mark from the toe of my ivory satin shoes.
