Been cohabiting with new partner for 4 months, keeps locking me out of house, changing locks and I have no key. All my belongings are in HIS house, he has threatened again to lock me out and my stuff will be put in HIS garage for my collection. Can he do this ? Can he stop me from obtaining access in this way ? I have decided to leave after months of verbal and physical abuse. Cant get hold of any Citizens Advice Burea or any free half hour solicitor consultation today.

Is the house rented or owned? If rented, are both your names on the tenancy? If owned, are both your names on the deeds?

If he's changed the locks and you can't get in just kick the door in get your stuff move out and thats the end of it.

Police won't get involved.

just collect it from his garage then and hopefully will be end of.
