Finding age of person

I ave an elderly friend whom I think is coming up to her 80th birthday. Is there any way I could find out for sure as I would like to make an occasion of it. I live in N.Ireland by way. I have tried hinting and asking around with no joy!

Not sure if this is on correct site but couldn't see any others to fit the bill.

You might be able to find a record of her birth certificate on one of the family history sites

Maybe if she hasn't responded to hints she doesn't want people to know? If so, she won't thank you for finding out her age!!

you can ask your local registrar but I think you pay �6 or thereabouts for records details

Thanks to all for your help. I know she won't mind if I find out and surprise her. I know her too well, I just don't want to spoil the surprise by asking her as she would probably guess why I wanted to know. Unfortunately she has no family that I know of.

I had a elderly neighbour and I had an idea that her 80th birthday was coming up so I verified it at her doctors surgery,dont know if they were supposed to tell me but they did, I did explain to them that I wanted to make her birthday special
