i bought a car last month and now decided to part exchange it for another it has 69.000 on the clock but when the garage checked they said last october it said it had 73.000 on the clock which ment if that was true it should have around 85.000 on the clock now.
all the service documents go along with the mileage which the clock shows now. how do we stand with the garrage could we demand our money back

it depends, when you bought the car did it have a little sticker on the speedo glass to say the mileage could not be verified or something like that.
if you're happy with the car anyway, go back to the garage with the evidence and threaten trading standards to get a partial refund.

If you're not happy, get the evidence and actually go to trading standards. I'm not sure about the Uk, but here it's not illegal to alter the clock on a car, but it is very illegal to sell it afterwards.
