Read the link provided by teagirl' So much will depend on the indervidual circumstances,the existing height of the trees and how/if it effects your property.From my experience there must be a continuos row of evergreen trees as in a hedge,not isolated examples and their height must adversly effect the enjoyment of your garden,ie casting too much shade.
