I have just taken on a school leaver and I have given her 4 an hour, she has very little experience but she has good school grades and seems intelligent enough to do the job just as well as anyone older, after her 3 month review I will put her wage up to 4.20 or so, then again after 6 months. I think 3.60 an hour is wrong when they are doing the same job as someone just a few years older. This girl is unsure on what to do at college and so is waiting a year and earning some money whilst checking out her options, she isn;t lazy and her family have ties with the store already and so i know i can be confident in her.
