So what's your question? I haven't a clue what the keys have got to do with anything - has he chucked them away or something?

ah, so hes no trying to backtrack.

why did he tell police it was stolen? was he over drink drive limit or was there some other reason why he couldnt admit to be driving it?
I think your friend is telling porkies
sounds like he dropped a clanger dont it.

I hope he gets caught along with every other person that makes a false claim then my insurance costs might go down
If it was a simple accident I can't see why he told lies so I suspect he was either drunk driving or has no insurance.
On top of other offences, he has failed to stop at the scene of an accident, failed to report an accident, wasted police time etc etc.
I hope the powers that be throw away their keys when they send him to prison.
ha ha ha ha.

Oh dear Kayakerbc

This is quite commonly done,
erm but it is quite commonly found out.

He needs to see a lawyer
google criminal lawyer and the name of the town he lives in......
and then go and see one.

lying to the Police is always a bad move- but it is surprising how often one does !

IF he runs a BMW, then he should be able to afford the 1 000 that he will need - those I reckon are the lawyer's fees and hopefully he will behave more like an adult in future.
