was it this:

Apparently if you have a Visa debit card you could be in luck re refund, but otherwise it could be a write-off...
What is the name of the company? On last weeks Watchdog, a company had been reported several times for doing exactly this and the actual shop has closed down and whoever was running it has dissappeared.....no surprise there! Unfortunately it seems nothing can be done until they people responsible are found. You may just have to count your losses this time Im afraid.

If you want more information on this, check out the bbc Watchdog website. If it is a different company, maybe you could contact Watchdog and report this one too.
was it a company called ozone by any chance.

if so they were on tonights watchdog programme. Apparently the two guys running the company have done a runner with all the money. According to watchdog there is a little known law that protects debit cards in a similar way to credit cards, but I cant remember the name of it.

Perhaps the bbc website will have the episode of watchdog for download.
