Yip thats right -although it would seem really strange if my son married my brothers daughter. Its legal tho.
By the same token its illegal for a stepfather to marry his stepdaughter -there was a case in Arbroath-yet there is no blood ties and when the stepfather married the mother the stepdaughter was adult and didnt ever live in the same house as him.Thats a grey area potentially -depending on the age the stepfather came into their lives-but strange all the same.
My parents were second cousins. My Dad's mother and my Mum's grandmother were sisters, and my Dad's father and my Mum's grandfather were brothers. So second cousins twice over. Definately not defined as incest, they were legally married.
I'm quite normal, most of the time. I think! Apart from being an accountant.
Just seen the one above - so my parents were first cousins once removed, not second cousins. And I made a spelling mistake - should be definitely. Sorry.
