Tax on property in Poland
A good friend has bought 2 flats in Krakow, Poland, with a view to capital appreciation in the long-term. She is renting both out, but for only just enough to pay off the mortgages (with a Polish bank). She's been told by Polish authorities that she still has to pay tax on the letting of those flats, even though she's making no profit from that. She's also been told that she'll have to pay tax in both Poland and England for simply owning the flats in Poland. Is this correct and, if not, what is the truth and who can testify to it?
